Will you pay more for your vacation if you use a travel agent? NO! Tour companies, resorts, Disney and cruise lines all pay a commission to travel agents. However, they do not pass that percentage discount along to you if you book yourself. Let's say you do all your own research and then book a trip online. You will pay the same price (or more) than if you had just called a travel agent and you have done all the work.
Nobody wants to pay more than necessary, but the lowest price isn't always the best deal. A travel agent will help you find the best value without the sacrifices of a cheap trip. A good travel agent will be able to add value to your trip by utilizing their expertise with flight schedules, hotel/stateroom locations, and general location knowledge.
Travel agents have working relationships with cruise lines, tour operators, etc and see special deals every day. They can save you money!
